So Many Ideas So little time... What's On My Hook Wednesday

I don't know what it is about this time of year... but something about it really gets my creative juices flowing. As orders start to slow down for my popular winter items I have a bit more time to crochet all those things that have been on my "to crochet one day" crochet list as well as a couple, ok maybe a few, ok a whole lot of unfinished projects.

Last time I checked in I was working on the Buttercup blanket and I am still working on the Buttercup blanket in addition I wanted to do a blanket for boys as every blanket I have made has been for a girl. I found a great pattern in "go Crafty Crochet Baby Blankets" call Star Struck pattern by Kimberly Biddix, I was going to do it in various shades of blue however after getting started I though the grey was a better contrast. I am using Caron Simply Soft colors Berry Blue, Dark Country Blue, and Grey Heather and N size hook (15mm).

I have had this bag on my to do list for a few months now I have to admit that I have been putting it off because of the color changes but I really want this bag for myself so decided it was time to give it a go... the pattern is by one of my favorite pattern designers and she calls it "The Weekender".

I am doing the smaller version shown above using Red Heart Super Saver. I am not normally a Super Saver fan as it tends to be really stiff but thought the stiffness would be perfect for this project.

I only have the base done and just getting started adding my first color excited to see this one come together.

So what are you working on would love to know what crafty projects you have going on this week so come link up with Tami's (WIP Wednesday) to show off your works in progress.

  1. I like the bag it looks nice! Have you ever felted your work. I want to lament a bag and it calls for felting. I've never done it before.

  4. I decided to teach myself to crochet this weekend and chose the star struck pattern. I'm doing lavender, sage and Ivory. I love the Blues you chose! The only thing I'm confused about is on the star stitch part. You finish the star st and create another loop through the center of the star. Then it says hook through last 2 loops on the side. I didn't know what that meant so I just looped through the last star loop on the WS. It seems to look fine but I'm curious how you interpreted that. Would you post a photo of what the wrong side looks like? Or even better, what strands you hooked through at that point? Many Thanks and happy stitching!
