What's on the Hook Wednesday

Hello Hooka's and all the other folks out there in the crafty world. Today is Wednesday 2/22/12 and it is time for What's on The Hook Wednesday my mid-week check in on what I am hooking this week. I got this lovely idea from FreshStitiches who does Work in Progress (WIP) Wednesdays and since my only crafty talent is crochet I decided mine should just be What's on the Hook. So lets get started...

If you have watched my Fresh Off Tha Hook Monday video for this week then you have already seen the lovely shawl below but since it is still on my hook here it is again. The pattern is by DeniseCats on Raverly and she calls it the Mists of Avalon Shawl. The moment I saw it I fell in love and knew that I had to make it as a gift for my granny for Mother's Day. I am about 25 squares in and I love it because it is a join as you go pattern. First time I have ever done a join as you go and I have to admit it was difficult at first I just was not understanding the join but once I got the hang of it is pretty easy and I am so happy with the way it is coming together.

Loving the join as you go but
will still have to weave in some ends
Using a sock yarn from Neighborhood Fiber Co.
beautiful variations of blue and a size 4 hook
I also have one other project on my hooks almost scared to post because I am not sure it is coming out correctly and I may have to frog it again....hence the tangled mess of yarn that I tried to crop out the photo.

I guess you will have to check out my Fresh off Tha Hook
next Monday to see if this actually
made it off the hook!

So that's all I have for this week. The shawl is my number one priority...I thought I would have been tired of making the same square over and over again by now but I actually get excited each time I start a new one. Would love to know what you are working on this week and if you want to check out some other crafty peeps and what works they have in progress be sure to join the party hosted by Tami Amis at WIP Wednesdays just click the picture below.

  1. Gorgeous, gorgeous shawl. I'd be excited to watch it grow and imagine when and where I'd wear it!
